Was wondering if my Vesper could be an alternate form for an existing OC of mine they're based from? I tried reading the rules and FAQ to find the answer myself, but couldn't seem to find it...? I want to say the answer is no, but would like confirmation!
so sorry for the delayed response- let me see if I can clarify!!
you ARE allowed to turn existing OCs into characters, as long as you have the original designer's permission to change the design's species. If you are the designer- great! no extra steps necessary! if the designer is still active on social media, we ask that you get written permission beforehand (to provide when the vesper form is submitted for approval). if the designer is NOT active anywhere you can locate, provide proof of that as a substitute.
vespers based on NON-original characters (ex. game/book/tv characters) cannot be exact replicas under any circumstances, but taking inspiration/making themed characters IS allowed. In both cases, the original design needs to be provided when the vesper is submitted for approval.
hope that was helpful!!
It's all good, no worries! I apologize for needing to ask further questions to clarify ---
So, I just need to ask my Vesper's Creator if it's alright to have them as an alternate form for the OC they're based off of..? Once that permission is given I need to get the Vesper Re-Approved, or...??
Just for context; the Vesper was made based off another character I own. They were a Custom that I had plans/backstory for, but that all fell through and with how similar they both are it's just safer to have them be one character instead of two if that makes sense???
The Vesper in question is over a year old, so I just want to make sure of everything! I'm more than happy to contact the creator of my Vesper as they're active on social media, I'm just trying to make sure I read what your response means properly and I apologize again for more questions!!
Also, Happy Christmas (and New Year) to you and everyone here! I hope I'm not bugging too much on this holiday!!
OH my apologies, I thought you were asking about making a design in the future!! For an existing vesper, it's totally up to you if you'd like to give them a non-vesper form as well ^^
For example, I have several characters that have vesper and pony/furry versions; you don't require any sort of permission to do that (unless the creator's TOS has terms about changing the character's species ofc)!
And happy holidays to you as well <3 you're no bother at all ^^
