This is a bi-weekly event that allows users in the community to talk about their vesper, as well as get art from folks within the community for a fluctuating fein price!
While we dont have a way of updating the daily fein on the website; our discord has it alongside a 'Stonks' ping!
Below you will be able to find the interveiw for this weeks vesper as well as the reference and rules for this event!

This is a special event for VOTW in celebration of a co-owner's bday (Jestea's fell on Jan 16th)! As per special rules, you may submit 4 times over the next 2 weeks.

Unfortunately due to responsibilities of VOTW being passed around a bit, there WAS a VOTW for Jan 1st-15th, but it wasn't posted on site. It will be posted going forward!

The form for submitting your vesper!
Please note: The form opens every other Sunday at 12pm EST and will close the following Saturday at 12pm EST - This meaning they get reset bi-weekly RNG will be utilized through out picking from the pool of people and the person selected will receive the @Vesper of the Week tag [Server Only] for the week as well as be interviewed that Saturday!

1. You must use the form to qualify Jestea is the one mainly running this event, they will not accept any dm's that have the information needed to submit your vesper 
2. You may only submit 1 (one) vesper per week This does not have to be your vesper but a lot of the interview questions are steered towards the characters information and the owners connection!
3. You may only submit 2 (two) art pieces per round This is set in place so you can not farm fein from this lil event. This event uses a fluctuating fein stock market that changes daily in ✦-votw-fein-market-status [Discord channel]
4. In order to qualify for the title again, you must give back You need to participate in giving art twice before you are able to qualify to get the VOTW title again! Just so people are able to get art as well
5. Bases, Sketched work and Monochrome pieces are not accepted These are rarely if ever accepted for prompts! This goes for this event as well.
6. If you submit in Server; you may still submit in the Gallery but you will receive no reward We are opening up VOTW to being an on-site and on-server sort of event! The Fein amounts for the day will be listed in the market status; we have no convenient way of displaying this on site so itll be what it iS  [ You can subit your VOTW entries on site via this Gallery ]
7. Art Submissions may not be within the same day While yes; we want you to participate and throw two pieces in! The rule is not that it cant be within the same day; Day being counted as a stock market rollover!

Okay! Lets get us started! Can you please introduce yourself and tell us why you picked these four adorable kiddos?

✦ Beau:

wHy yes~ Actually not my first time for VOTW, although this is under special circumstances ;0c I'm Theo/Beau/Tort, I go by a few dif names! Yall know me, been a community member for cosmkds as long as there's been a community, and can its exciting to say that even since the last time I got VOTW, I have become a co-owner! The char's I picked- Was a tough choice, but bc I could do a feW I wanted some variation!

- Carmin (they/he), a recent object of my fixation oh my g O D. Idk, rlly just wanted to include a common kid and their colors have me simping- Pat on the back to m e

- Huxley (he/him), I wanted to have a rlly challenging kid available anD include a clown kid, bc i am the clown g uy, so 2 birds with 1 stone ;D

- Pluto (he/they), a clASsic, much loved kid of mine, and although a mythic I'd say he's the simplest of the four today imo lmao

- Whimsy (he/him), oh my beloveD. Absolutely mainly just picked him bc he's my most attached vesp rn, siNce the other 3 I mainly picked to fulfill complexity options lmAO

HOH BABIES! I'm glad you were able to decide though! Must've been hard! What are your favorite design and or story aspects of each character? Do spill!

✦ Beau:

Admittedly! Pluto is the only developed char atm. I'm very early stages on developing the other 3, so I don't have like clear ideas for what their stories are or what their places are gonna be in my AU. I have? Some basic ideas for personality though. I think my favorite thing abt Carmin's design is his cOlOrs,, Frfr, idk what I was oN designing him. They were a song custom for Kibble!! So completely off the dome, I think the song name was called "Romantic Homicide", that's what their theme is anyway. I was happy w/ the custom doing it, and then rlly fell in love w/ em once I get em hehe. With Huxley, I really adore how such a wide range of colors and saturation can look!! So n iCE! Truly my favorite little clown baby. And Sad Clowns FTW >>> Not to mention!! his leg braces mean a lot :>c And more n more lately, I just rlly appreciate disabled rep. Jus a sad lil clown. When it comes to Pluto, I think my favorite thing abt his design has aLways been his simplicity. Like the toughest thing abt him is making that hair curl curls the right way, and the dual wings can be tough! Story wise, something I don't give enough credit is their ability to read minds!! :>c I love giving my myths like a powerful gimmick essentially, and Pluto's has always been their obscured third eye and that mind reading ability, along w/ the migraines that come associated with it. And laStlY, the absolute cHOKeHOLd Whimsy's blues and his lil tail has on m e. It's the itty bitty dog dail and the heart whiskers for me. Once again an instance of a kid I was hella proud of while making, but my attachment skyrocketed when I owned them primarily bc of the coloring. WAck

MaN I can see just how much you love these kids!! and honestly everything is so valid of you! I'm not sure if theres an answer to it but is there still somwthing you want to change with them?

✦ Beau:

I thiNk the only things I'd change is Huxley's wing color (I just don't wanna redo his ref lmao, I'll do it eventually but since it's covered by the sleeves I never saw it as a big deal), as well as remove the gem and maybe??? up grabber count to 4, but also 3 is fitting? so eH They're just trait preferences but not major enough to make a ref update pressing yet lmao aAANd for Pluto, I think in ways I think the dark starry parts are a bit,, too soft. I'd mby want em darker n more ominous n all that. But! W/ the amt of art he has and it truly doesnt bother me a whole lot, only whenever I draw them myself lmAo, I haven't felt any sort of need to change that. And then, any changes I would've made to Carmin + Whimsy I've already done recently. I'm rlly hap w/ all of em!

Im so glad!! Just goes to show how much you like the characters and I'm glad they have you in a chokehold xD! My gosh how long have you had them :0? And what made you want them (if you got them through a trade or smth!)

✦ Beau:

whEw, the oldest is definitely Pluto. He's!! Over a year old! Made as a custom in December 2021, and has just- been in a death grip since mOment of creation lmao I believe!! He was made from a concept, although I don't have the concept anymore Carmin and Huxley I got at the same time! Abt mid-late December from Keeble. When they were doing one of their TH clearouts, I knew they were kids I just had to swoop up. Huxley is interesting in that he's a character I've adored but never imagined that I'd own lmao. I consider myself very lucky to have him now, and I think subconsciously rose to the top of the clown ranks to be my fave rn! And then!! Whimsy is the most recent! Got him at the end of December, just abt a week after Carmin + Huxley. I had seen him being passed betwen Bug n Kin often on a TBD, and yk- just kinda waiting to see if that TBD would ever break on eithed part but was never sure! Then seeing him in a folder Bug had that said offers were permitted, I zoomed so mf fast o Ml- I think!! It was the icon I did for Bug of this char that really,, cemented how much I rlly adored him. It made me especially proud of the design, and then when I got my chance to get him myself attachment kicked into high gear

omg A YEAR OLD!!! what a bABY! And I can def see how attached you are, speaking as someone who's been like that as well xD! And I'm glad you got connected back to Whimsy because if a piece you made for them! Props to you on that! I'm sure it goes without asking but - how much do these characters mean to you? And is there anything you're specifically lookin' to get this week?

Even tho these kids are,, v new to me rlly I love them smM

As for what they meAn to me- I'm still figuring that out a bit! Whimsy is just,, pure joy and delight. He's so bright + happy + carefree, it's a much needed boost of serotonin rlly. Carmin is sassy and snarky and very chill, but I think mostly they're a character I can already tell that I'm starting to explore gender a bit more with. Huxley is ofc my sad little lad, and Pluto my reserved, quiet artist, bUT both have kinda my struggles w/ the metric ton of ass-kicking my health gives me on the daily. I love to give or explore parts of my identity w/ my characters, but also sometimes what they mean to me is they just make me happy. Also!! Not mentioned yet, but 3/4 of them have pets! And I would love to see them with their pets over this round. Don't have names for said pets, but we got Pluto w/ his Slime, Huxley w/ his Ba, and Carmin w/ both a Fawling and a Teacup Piggy. Beyond that! Would also probs just enjoy an even spread or to see the chars w/ v little art bump up to balance the two w/ the most!

✧ Dino: hOh, glad they mean so much to ye! Sometimes people can feel lost with how attached they are to the character, but seeing your response makes me see attachment in a new light! And will take note of the pets! Them having pets is just to c UTE :yellow_wail: But anyway! Before I get sidetracked, last question! Is there anything these inspiring artists should avoid when drawing your characters? Or general tips/notes?

✦ Beau:

I would say!! Most of my pointers would be for Huxley! Since I haven't updated his ref, mainly just: - Not the end of the world if he isn't drawn w/ his outfit, although it is preferred, but iF you dO would like his wing color matching his ears!! I'll probs- Add a doodle for it in his gallery :>c - Other thing is don't!! Forget his leg braces, regardless if the outfit is included I also might remake his ref soon anyway, so keep a lookout but don't rely on it! Other than that, refs should be straight forward + updated so don't rlly got notes. I may make a marking ref for Carmin at some point, where then it'd be fine to draw him w/o the sweater :>c

Can you please introduce yourself and tell us why you picked this vesper?

Hey hey! I'm Keira, but I also go by Whiny ^^ I picked this vesper because she's my self sona! I'm very proud of her design, even if it's simpler than others, I think it represents me really well

I remember her being a sona of yours yes! She has a very lovely design :>!
Can you tell us about your vesper, a short introduction?

Whiny>
Thank you!! My sona is meant to represent myself ofc lol, so her personality reflects mine! She's super confident, book smart though not street smart LMAO, and really likes anything and everything creative: drawing, knitting/crocheting, music, etc. You should also notice the necklace on her reference, which is present on every sona of mine! It represents a rock that was given to me in a dream by a fictional character, and was later actually given to me by my best friend in the form of a real necklace!! I wear it every day hehe

Oh thats super neat!! Its funny how dreams can sometimes predict what will happen in real life :> What are some of your favorite aspects of this characters design and/or story? How so?

sorry for the delay She's not got much in terms of story since she's meant to be a 1:1 of me, just as a vesper lmfao, but as for her design: Purple is my absolute favorite color, and I adore everything sparkly, so I knew I had to include those elements when designing her. Her markings on her claws are reminiscent of the fingerless gloves I wear! The other black markings/scales are to represent the amount of black I wear irl (a lot, typically with one color to pop)
The hair is also meant to be super long! Irl it reaches my tailbone and I take much pride in it :D

Oh thats super cool!! I love it when designs mimic something in the real world; specially with folks's sonas! Thats awesome how long ye hair is!! I just got my hair cut; it use to be mid back Im gonna go ahead and skip around some questions since i dont think they are v needed in this interview based off ye responses! So up next How long have you had this character/what made you want to make em?

Whiny>
According to TH, I've had her for about 10 months, so I made her around the end of January/beginning of February! I made her because I have a hard time connecting to any OC meant to be a sona that doesn't directly resemble me in some way, so I thought I may as well just make one! She went through a couple of revisions before settling on this one, but I'm v happy with it
I also may or may not have had a crush on a fictional character (Bakugou Katsuki from MHA) at that point, and wanted to draw a self sona and him as a vesper ship LMFAO FKSBD
I've since gotten over the crush, but he's still her mate for the time being, so if anyone wants to draw ship art between her and Bakugou that's completely fine!

Thats fair as hEll and honestly kinda great djjrj I get the whole having a hard time connection to ocs ment to be a sona; ive cycled through so many to get to a point where i am now with em Got two more questions for ye! What does this character mean to you?

She means a lot to me!! Along with my human self sona, she's my most drawn/doodled character. I use them both to express any emotions I'm feeling, both positive and negative, and they're a useful outlet to me

jDKKSD The perfect kinda character! Aigh aigh, last set :> Is there any things you are looking to get specifically during this week? Any things artists should avoid doing?

Hmm, a few things come to mind, but it mostly applies to those who want to do anthro art of her:

If yall want to draw her in a black or dark brown trenchcoat, that would be fuckin rad!! I got my irl trenchcoats from my mother, who got them during her time in Afghanistan back in 2004 when she was on deployment. I wear one of them every day, and they've become my favorite item of clothing ever. I could post them in the misc. pics channel if people want exact references!

The other thing that comes to mind, if you want to draw her with any of my other characters please just draw her with my MHA vesps! I'm not attached at all to my other vesps, so I don't want to waste anyone's time with art that may not get the appreciation it deserves 

Other than those two notes, that should be it!
Oh!! And please include her necklace, anthro or feral. As I mentioned earlier, it's important to me and an integral part of, well, me lmfao. I'd appreciate it, thank you!

First off, thank you for taking your time for this interview n secondly, can you tell us something about yourself and about the Vespers you've chosen?

Thank you for taking the time to interview me for thiS, it wouldve felt awkward tryin to interview well,, myself dkkd
Its seriously appriciated

Hello! Im Kibble, Keeble, Kin or Kiwi, however folks know me! Im the founder and owner of vespers! Im a bit of a nerd when it comes to worldbuilding, reading and music and i love developing n drawing mt characters!
The four i picked for this special event sorta set of weeks are Alumnus, Wish, Malcom and Harbin!
Theres a lot that can be said on all of them lmaO
But to give a general snopsis;

Harbin is was a living lie detector for the empire, being hatched into a series of experiments run by the elder council

Wish is a vesper who grew up in solitude and idolizes romance stories! Very in love with the idea of love, hates his glasses and v much traumatized

Alumuns isnt a vesper at her core; she accidently turned herself into one while testing a new spell- which essentially reset her lifespan as she started as a 2 year old kit who was adopted into an Orenda family

Andd last but not least; my boy Malcom!

Malcom is a soft and quiet lad; he comes from acantha and was caught in a snowstorm- being swallowed whole by an earth tremor that came from Teife. He now is suffering form amnesia and is trying to adjust to life in Tiefe

 Poor Alumnus tho; she's gonna have fun- Since you already gave us a quick introduction about your Vespers, why did you choose them for this interview? And - if I may add - why did you pick multiple characters? owo

I love being able to share my work and drag folks in keme

Oh she does lmao, shes still learning how to turn herself back but with the fall of orenda its become more and more difficult! She does have a necklace that lets her shift back to a honse for an hour and a half!
To put it rather simply; I picked these four because they are my primary mascots! Each has very deep attachment for multiple reasons; be it the music they are tied to, how long it took me to get them or random attachment that just spiraled I ended up chosing four as i am, honestly not very attached to majority of my vespers, i wouldve done my truesona but she heavily needs an update n i doubt folks wouldnt get bored of her So variety also plays into it! Considering folks get to double their entries this time round

Yess, keep up the great worldbuilding work! And very fair! Attachment can sometimes be such an unstable thing oof N hey, 90 minutes of being a horse is already an improvement! Which also in a sense answered what I eas wondering about, namely whether she remembers that she used to be a unicorn :0 lol
Connecting to that, what are dome of your favorite aspects of these Vespers' designs and/or story? Why?

Goodness i apologize for the wall of information im about to give sjdj
But to answer your question; yes! She does remember her childhood and adulthood she had as a unicorn as she was 23 when she was reverted! So in technicallity shes 45 now! As shes a 22 year olf vesper now

Gettin into fav aspects of designs and storY;
Malcom; I am such a sucker for his overall vibe- the blues and greys + the general shark theme. He has a chokehold on me For his story? I honestly love the trope of overcoming amnesia and slowly remembering where you came from and who you are. It gives someone a second chance at themselves. Malcom wasent a bad person persay but this gives him the opprotunity to reset what he was taught when groeing up; even if thingd like resource guarding are still deeply rooted in his core because of it being more of a survival instinct. I love that he has a slime he accidently named 'thingy', he doesnt really want said slime but the lil dude brings malcom gifts every day!

Harbin; Greens and Grey go bRRrrr Generally story wise though; something i personally find very interesting is the fact of what the aftereffect of his experimentation and conditioning is! He was a living lie detector for the Empire- meaning he gets very nauseous when detecting someone is being untruthful. This can go from slight nausea to extrene vomiting depending on how severe and how badly someone lies. This is at the expense of his health so hes very much not one for being around many folks but he at least knows who he can trust

Wish- Lil deer boY, he honestly gives me so many warm feelings and the dark accents on him just strangely make me love him more Hes an embodyment of my hopless romantic turned up to 10 and given trauma djdjd Which does sound bad buT like It explores what growing up in Olaug can be like when you are sheltered by a mother whos not from the clan and eventurally lsoe her. Wish turned to books and found comfort in what he read; he daydreams constantly and is in love with the theory and idea of love more than the fact that he has a mate somewhere. Hes a lil broken but with the right person hed be alright

Alumnus; Everything about her itches my brain right from the day i saw her shown off; I managed to give up a charc i had loves for ages but slowly lost attachment for to get her But her story; ive mostly covered! I love that despite the roadblock o becoming a kit; she grew up and was goal oriented! Learning and honing her magic to try and create her spells again Since she lost the scrolls in the transformation; it is difficult to recreate the worigjnal spell to reverse it- so lifelong mission right there But honestly? She doesnt really know if she wants to go back But its been so long that she doesnt have a goal if she doesnt, so its a bit of a delemia!

Welp, you don't gotta apologize to me at least because I enjoy reading walls of text :D in fact, I fear mine may be longer too Mwah, grey with accent is always neat! And I agree! That trope is usually also used to have character affected by it have a very evil secret which brings all the drama to the plot, so this is a refreshing thing to read about uvu I'm also really intrigued by that idea in general of having a Vesper try to break through the evil clan's barrier and try to live a "normal" life. And hello? Thingy is adorable uwu Boi, I guess, knowing when someone lies can sometimes be good, but notttt when you learn about it that way oop I just hope that when he vomits he at least does it on the liar- And yess, Wishhhh
 Also pfff, trauma seems like a common thing in a Vesper's backstory lmao /lh Hopeless romantics are fun though hehe Are there some things you would change about them? If so, why?

Trauma is a huge thing for vespers yes lmaO Though to be fair, theres a lot of dark recesses of the forest and trauma makes for interesting characters sjjd, a lot of my charc trauma revolves around innerworkings of the clans and often time negligence or general ignorance from the vespers around the one kdkd Theres not really anything id rrally change about their current designs or stories; i do know ill be reworking Malcoms story as i am not entierly happy with whst i have right now- i want to keep most of it just make it more into the future of living in tiefe rather than him just arriving :0!! But thats abt it

Goodness olay i gotta look through my files really quick to give you how long ive had them!
I know ive had Malcom the longest and Alumnus the shortest

I had gotten Malcom; August 8th of 2021! He was a charac i was after for a solid 6 months and went at tortls throat anytime i saw him up djdn
Hes and malcom come from the same batch of charcs! I wanted both for the same reason; their songs got me through my worst relationship and in turn their charcs i attached to heavily- not to mention both have  apiece that made me fall in love with them made by their previous owner; Tortl
Speaking of Harbin, he was obtained on October 21st of 2022!  So he falls in the middle

Wish was a charc i originally obtained to fill a value gap ina  trade who i wound up doodling one day when deattached from vespers and just kinda clickEd hard
He was obtained on June 12th, 2022

And lastly we have Alumnus! She was a charc that her og owner obtained after i got my grubby lil hands on the owners previous Mascot, Prima. Logan got prima for me and she was a charc i held onto with such a tight grip until all attachment fizzled out;
At that point i somehow?? Managed to trade prima for almnus; it was a 200 val dif but i will happily take the loss in val for my beloved lady- i cant even begin to describe my adoration and love for Lumi
I also!! Got logan a mythic design back + two other charcs when getting her so thats a bonus and a half
She was obtained on November 4th, 2022!

Yep, that sounds relatable! There were also a few of Vespers I annoyed their previous owners till I finally got them xD But honestly? That shows you'll really care for them and that's also one of the best reasons to aim for a character; Malcom and Harbin are definitely in the best and very caring home uwu Not that it'd be any different with Wish and Alumnus :0 Personally, there's no monetary value that makes up for personal attachment, so while yes you did lose some money, you got a character that sparked some huge attachment which is great! And getting some designs for bug back is another great bonus for sure. You already gave some answers to my next question, but what do these four mean to you? owo

Ayeaye!! Honestly the four mean,, a ton to me, they are the vespers i have the most attachment to which is why they are apart of my primary mascots n in the case of Malcom; has stayed there since i got them! They are some of the few vespers i will probably never get rid of n rather retire if i ever lose atachment or leave the species

Thank you for taking the time to do this interview! Can you give us an introduction and tell us why you picked this vesper?

Dexi>
No problem! I'm hella amped, well to begin hi my name is Dexi/Star/Nick as most know me in the server. I've been with the species since day one and happy I've stuck around to see how much its grown!
To the reason why I chose my boy, its simple he's my closest character and an extension of me that I can bring into art. He's one of the few designs ive made that have truly stuck and remained in Sona status so strongly, so it only felt right to choose him to be shared with the vesp world and given all the love he deserves!

Thats valid!! I remember he also has a furry form! His colors are v v fun so imagine the community will bave a blast Can you give us a description of Riot as a vesper? Personality, history, etc!

He does! He actually started off as a warm up adopt that I was going to sell but got q u i c k l y attached too hehehe,, Personality n History are interesting with this lad,, Despite his namesake hes actually a very docile vesp compared to his anthro counterpart he really only shows the chaotic nature when he is out sailing and on his own with his pet companions he calls his "Sailor crew" . Living on his own in the outer edges of the smaller islands of Akio,but mostly is acutually out at sea or atlease constantly sailing to check on the other small islands so he has created his own lil house boat that he mostly lives in! Mainly his job/self proclaimed job is he tracks what washes up on the shores of the islands and takes them in to be repurposed for other vesps or himself. He thoroughly enjoys his living style! He wouldn't trade it for the world! To others Riot is seen as a mystery almost, little to no vesps in his clan are close to him other than those who do alot of trades and search requests for him!

Apologies on delay! Was handling approvals and last weeks VOTW stock market rewards :0!! That honestly sounds like a very neat story for him! Reminds me of how [pardon kinda obscure reference??] Tinkerbell would find lost items and repurpose or fix them! A Houseboat is very new! Have not seen that before for a vesper :D!!! What are some of your favorite aspects of this characters design and/or story? How so?

All good! Not obscure at all he does take inspo from that as one of my childhood nicknames was Tinkerbell! So you are right on the money with that! Story wise, the fact hes not tied to one place his home comes with him and even since hes gone so much he still knows he has the support of his clan. He even takes note to find neat lil trinkets for the young ones to keep hehe. Its one of those life fantasies that seems so much fun to live and live out all those adventures to your hearts extent, fully devoted to it! Design wise + character wise is the spikes he has and wears with the hoodie he got in the pony lands! Hes noticed how when he is taking a swim and is diving for things that more people often leave him be as his silhouette looks more like the monsters that lurk it gives him a sense of security in his job! On a smaller scale his design overall is just fun to me imo, with the simple but fun pallete he just comes so naturally to draw!

That makes sense!! I love his story; it gives both a feeling of comfort but also childhood nostalgia!! Which is always absolutely wonderful What are some things you would change about them? Why?

ooo thats a toughie, honestly if i was able to remove the hoodie without removing his most notable trait being his spines along his back and tail i think that would be the only thing but even then it nothing major as adding the reason why he has this hoodie adds more to his story and one of his many adventures!

That's fair! I know there is now a cursed item for the enraged spines but unfortunately not that of what'd mimic mythic spines :< I do enjoy his hoodie though! Its a really cute addition to the design How long have you had this character? Andd What does this character mean to you?

Aye thats valid but like i said no biggie i found a way to work around that issue so no rules are broken and it still makes me hella happy with how his vesp form came out! Hes actually about to reach a year old! Funny enough I made him on Christmas after I had gotten home from visiting fam! He means everything to me, I struggled for a while to find a design or make a design that truly felt fitting to who i am even if its in an abstract way with him. To finnaly have a design that I can attach myself to it feels like i won the lottery!

Keeble> Hello! Thank you for being the member for kicking off this bi-weekly event! Can you please introduce yourself and tell us why you picked this vesper?

Jestea> HehE! 
I'm v honored
I amm Beau! (He/Him) Well, my real name is Theo + I go by Beau and Tortle online as well, so any of those 3 work but I notice folks call me Beau a lot more in the vesp community so we'll go w/ that! 👌 I've been in the vesp community for over 4 yrs now i guESs. Folks probsbly know me well as Head Mod + Website Lead ;D I'm autistic! I type a lot,, a lot of times w/ emojis,, and a lot of swearing
And I would say art is my full time job at this point, very thankful for vespers making that happen really. And I'll stop there before this gets tOo long.
I think I ended up choosing Planchette becauseee on top of landing himself as being a primary mascot of mine, and probably one that will not be leaving any time soon, he is also the newest one! And I simp for him so yall shall simp too

Keeble> Im so glad that the design is so well loved, I know he has a mate that also comes from the Halloween gatcha :0? Bouncing off this; Can you tell us about your vesper, a short introduction?
Im glad ye are still kickin in the community; being one of our oldest members if not one of the first few! Its been a long time uvu!!

Jestea> Aye!!
I think I joined within like the 1st 3 months of Vespers being made. So its bEen a wHiLe lmao But ye!!
Planchette is little hard to describe, but the best way I can put it is rather snooty, very fashionable, dry deadpanned humor and reacts like comedically underwhelmed lmao
He does have 3 pet rats!! Which are all visually based on rats I own or have owned  
So they're v special to me  And they're aLl mENaCes (affectionate)
He iS shipped with the Slasher Film theme from the Halloween Gacha yis, named Jason! And together they're my horror comedy couple  Both are essentially parodies of horror movies! Planchette's whole demeanor is to parody ghost movies, just being that one person who does not believe in ghosts and doesn't react while actively being possessed by a ghost, yk? lmAo, even tho Planchette dOes believe in ghosts ;D He just,, doesnt react like he gives a shit. Mby I'll submit Jason for VOTW sometime in the future  but for now, ghost boy gets the sPotlight

Keeble> I love his general vibe so much, it fits the design and i love that he has a horror comedy ship :wellfuk:
You don't see a whole lot of those with characters! Hopefully we'll see some ship art during the next two weeks :0c
What are some of your favorite aspects of this characters design and/or story? How so?

Jestea> God I'll weep if they get ship art 
They're,, one of my fave ships to date. Ridiculous + oddly wholesome.

aS for the question  What don't I like abt Planchette's design I'm obsessed w/ the brown palette, all his colors compliment so wEll. So simple yet it doesnt feel like he's missing anything. Yes I changed his wing color, but I do that for aLl of my vesps lmao. Goth is one of my favorite outfit aesthetics and I've been dying for more ocs, especially vesps, who really use that aesthetic. But my favorite thing abt his design :kermitthonk: Has to be like his thigh markings, bc like his right side says Hello + his left side says Goodbye and when i notice that when I tell you i wEEped /pos

Story wise, I think it may actually be smth I havent touched on yet! There is a serious side to his story as well~ Planchette can see + hear ghosts without needing to be blind or deaf, and that is because when his egg was laid his mother was at the time heavily afflicted by a cursed item that gave her the ability to communicate through the veil, and it did drive her mad, but like shreds of those abilities passed on to Planchette. Part of his Done With It vibe is bc!! he's so used to cursed shit + ghosts since he was born, he's just unphased lmao. But I think that's my favorite thing abt his story bc it takes cursed items which are neat by itself, and delves into how curses affect families and bloodlines beyond the immediate change in behavior or physicality.

Keeble> You managed to answer the next few questions coming up! I wont ask about how long; as i know ye got em Sept 30th-Oct1st lmAO
But Man he is def a favorite of mine from the gatcha and im so glad you caught onto the detail of his thighs saying 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' One thing thatss not pictured on his ref however is that the 'Hello' is suppose to have a sun to mirror the moon :0! he is based off an actual Ouija board, i can shoot ye the inspo pic if yed like!
I adore the lil story details, hearing peoples thought on cursed items and exactly what they can do to a vesper and their lineage is quite amazing to see 
I can imagine growing up with what he has that he'd be rather unphased and quite use to seeing beyond the veil.

What made you want this character?

ye i wasnt sure abt that, i think the one time ive been able to doodle his right thigh, i did a moon as well? just like a glimpse but
I think what specifically made me want this kid Is exactly all the things I adore about his design. Helping you with traits on the Gacha, I mean I knew what kids were gonna be in the pool and there were sO many wicked designs but from the 1st moment Ouija Board/Planchette got finished, I knew he would be one of my favorites + that stayed throughout the rest of the designs. Once the Gacha was finished, I knew that out of what, like 90 smth designs? (i forgot already lmAO) Ouija Board was 1000% my favorite from the start

Keeble> I can honestly agree with ye there; Funnily enough Ouija was a theme that i lost the original design on; this was the second design! And honestly the design has been one of my favorites through-out all of the Gatcha from this past year! I still seriously appreciate the help that was given with the gatcha on the hand of traits; hella appreciated :wellfuk:

it's more of Planchette's rats that mean a lot for me
Ofc I adore his design and story immensely, but it isnt terribly personally connected to me? I developed Planchette's humor off of mine a lot, and his style is always something I've envied and is something I hope one day I'd be able to pull off myself bc it is like my dream aesthetic.

But what rlly honed in on connection for me was when I decided to give him rats, and in a way connect him to pets I have now (Goblin + Ghosty are based off current rats I have, Tiny + Pooh) and one that I've lost (Ghoul is based off of the first rat I ever owned, who sadly passed years ago, named Claudia!).

And it's v sentimental to me to honestly see a character that I feel represents a style and confidence I aspire to have interactions + art with a pet that I had when I was at my most insecure in my sense of self, i was like a pre-teen when I had Claudia I'm almost 22 now lMAo. And that's what Planchette has come to mean to me, the new and aspirational meeting the gone, but not forgotten.
It's vEry sentimental yEs but tbh all my mascots + sonas usually have some super sentimental connection for whY theyre my most connected ocs lmao

I remember you mentioning that the rats are based off rats you've had or currently have in your life now; i think that's one of the sweetest things you can do or give a character. It allows the memory of the pet to live on and give you more of a way to have closure/have interactions with a pet even after their passing. Its a nice thing to be sentimental over and a overall nice thing to help connect to a character.

I can understand envying a characters style and using them as an extension of 'I want to look or dress like this' as thats something ive given or done with my characters in the past [Side squints at the whole,, Victorian thing]
Sentimental characters are some of the best, now ill give you these questions as a whole as they go hand in hand;

Since deciding to do that w/ the girls it's actually,, given me imMense closure + comfort when it comes to my rats and pets in general 
+ frankly envying Planchette's style means I can play dress up w/ outfits that I too, can one day achieve even if it's just a frAction of his hotness

I think over this period  I would love to see some anthro Planchette lookin snazzy, or ofc and absolutely any n all art with the ladies (for reference, the rats are all girls lmAo) :And hell, if ship art is permitted that would be neat too  get some horror gays up in hEre
but truly, i shall be happy w/ anything of the beloved 

I'd say for artists- I have not yet updated his ref but please draw his wings matching his ear/eye color!! There's some art refs in his TH of thAt. And always makes sure he has his hat n big ol necklace ;0 Beyond that, u can kinda go wild!

Do not get vesper designs from them and report it if you see they have stolen a design and remade it into whatever as we've had that issue in the past with the Blacklisted user Khianite. 
Vesper designs may NOT go to them; but they may be received from them, you may NOT co-own [Generally co-ownership is already not recognized by the ML and highly discouraged]; the same old same old for general Blacklisted user stuff
Do note that if we are informed of anyone helping and/or working with this user to get vespers legally approved or customs/trades being done with said user; you will be given a formal strike and then blacklisted if continued. We do take folks ignoring the blacklist seriously and there will be consequences if ignored.

As a refresher for what blacklisted users entail;

'✧ Gain ownership of new vespers. You are not required to relinquish ownership of any vespers you currently own, but new ones cannot and will not be allowed to be in your ownership.
     ☾ If you try and circumvent the blacklist by "owning" vespers under someone else's username, all associated individuals who permitted this to happen will also be blacklisted and banned from the server. If you value your community friends, this is not advised.

✧ Design vespers, whether by rights (which if you have them, they are hereby revoked as well) or by an MYO.
     ☾ Attempting to design vespers secretly and pass them to another rights holder to get approved will result in the rights holder having their rights revoked and they will receive not one, but 2 strikes for assisting you, which can potentially result in their ban from the server. Once again, if you value your community friends, this is not advised.
     ☾ If you choose to sell designs without circumventing approval whatsoever, any person who purchases these illegal designs will receive at least 1 strike, and can potentially face further punishment in the form of blacklisting, rights removal, or a server ban.'

Many things about the community, species, and even site have changed over the past 3-4 weeks! Unfortunately due to the News tab accidentally being removed, a full change log was not able to be provided until just recently. But here it finally is!

rule changes

Removal of Species Rule 4.7✧ Vespers who are gifted lose resaleability.
Addition of Species Rule 2.13✧ Adopt concepts or scrapped designs made by Blacklisted folks may NOT be passed on to people in the community; if you are using a blacklisted person's design/concept to make an official vesper, you have a high change of losing your rights.

Trait Changes

✧ See the associated images and references for added traits and changed rarities!
✧ Mod Traits have been removed and made public for all to use.
✧ Fetlocks have been removed, but are doable with the Fluff Mutation trait. They would be listed as Fluff Mut (Fetlocks) if they go over the hoof. Vespers who have had their traits updated with Fetlocks have had the trait marked as Invalid.

Approval changes

✧ All Rights Holders have Corrupt rights! They have 2 slots available to them that reset every 3 months. The next reset is January 1st.
✧ Wacky Taffy can be used to freely edit/add corrupt traits on to an MYO or pre-existing vesper.
✧ Cursed Orbs now exclusively are applied to Mythics.
✧ Rights Holders may now make Post-Corrupts, as that is a part of Corrupt rights.
✧ MYOs and Design Updates put through site will require traits to be added! Mods will assist in making sure they are correct.

How do I sign up?

When you get on the website, you will need to register a new account.
Once you register you will be asked to link your Deviantart.
Once you’ve done that and confirmed your email, you’re all set!

I didn’t receive my confirmation email?

Sometimes the emails can get sent to your Spam/Junk folders on accident.
Make sure to check there just in case!

Does it work well on Mobiles?

Yes! The site works extremely well and is simple to use on Mobile

How do I customise my account?

Click your name on the far right and go to settings.
From here you can upload an icon, give yourself an intro/bio, set birthday privacy, change your email and password.

How can I find the Vesper FAQ?

The FAQ can be found in the ‘About’ section located at the bottom of the website.
You can also find the TOS and Privacy info there as well as the owners deviantart and a contact button should you need to get in contact and don't have access to the server.

Where do I find my characters?

Once you have linked your DA, any vespers that appear under your ownership on the Masterlist will appear on your account under ‘My Characters’.
You can find that through either the ‘Home’ tab or by clicking your username on the far right and clicking the My Characters option.

Why aren’t some of the vespers I own showing up in my characters?

If you have changed your deviantart name/account and some of the vespers are still listed under your old name, make sure to link both accounts if you have two separate accounts. If you have core and just changed your username; Please contact Alteric#5661 on Discord with a link to all the characters under your past username alongside your new user so they can update it!

How do I find what vespers are under my old username?

You would go through these steps: Browse -> Character Masterlist -> Advanced Search Options -> User URL and then Search!

How does the new Masterlist work?

When a vesper is approved, they will be uploaded to the Masterlist.
You can see the full list under the ‘Browse’ tab.
You will receive a notification if a vesper you designed was uploaded.

The ML entries will show you all the important info you need to know:
-Traits/Rarity
-Artist/Designers/Owner
-If they can be Resold/Traded/Gifted
-Cooldown

What about MYO Slots?

MYO slots will have their own Masterlist. Once a vesper has been approved the MYO will be used and the vesper will be added to the main Masterlist.

They will have pretty much the same info as the normal ML entries.

How does Co-Ownership work now?

Co-owners will be listed under ‘Details’ on the side of the Masterlists image, the Primary owner of the vesper will be the one to have the vesper in their ‘Characters’ section!

Some Masterlist entries have names? Why is that?

You can edit your vespers on your account anytime you want.
At the bottom of their profiles, you can click the edit button to edit their info!

You have access to:
-Giving them a name
-Writing a bit of a bio for them
-Listing them trade
-Set if you want gift art/writing

How do I find a list of traits I can use?

Under the ‘World’ tab you will find an Encyclopaedia!
There you can find information on all sorts of things like traits, rarities and items!
If you click on ‘All Traits’ you will be given the option to search by name or use drop down boxes to search by categories or rarities.

Where can I find my Fein and Items?  

Fein can be found in your ‘Bank’ and Items are in your ‘Inventory!’
Both of these can be found and viewed on your profile or by clicking the ‘Home’ tab and choosing them from the drop down menu.
Traded Fein and Items will automatically transfer so no need to wait for a mod to move them before you can start using them!

Will I still be able to earn Fein through the DA Journal?

Sadly the answer is no.
Instead you will be able to earn Fein by submitting art to the monthly prompts on the site!

Where can I find the prompts?

You can find the monthly prompts information and submit to them on the ‘Prompts’ page found under the ‘World’ tab.
Scroll down or use the filters to find the ‘Art Prompts’.
There will be new ones added each month when the previous ones end!
On the right of each will be a ‘show details’ button.
Use this to learn more about the requirements needed for each prompt.

How do I submit prompts?

Click the ‘submit prompt’ button on the one you want to submit to.
You can then add a link to the submission, make comments and add characters you used.
You shouldn't need much else so just click the submit button in the bottom right.

Where can I buy MYO slots and Items?

Under the ‘World’ tab, there is an option for the shops!
Just click on the item you want to buy and a small pop up box will appear.
Here you can choose amounts and choose if you want to buy them with your main bank or the bank of a specific vesper!

Can I resell my items?

Yes you can!

How do I use my MYOs and Items?

Your MYO eggs will appear in your inventory at first.
Click on it and you should receive a pop up asking if you’d like to open it.
Once you agree the MYO egg will become a slot and move to your MYO slots inventory.

Items are used when you submit a vesper to be approved!
When you submit the request for approval, there will be an option to add on items at the bottom. Just add the items and they will be removed from your inventory once approved.

How do I roll my Poppers and Rollers?

Once you’ve bought your poppers/rollers, you can open them in ‘Prompts’.
You can find this under the ‘World’ tab!
All you have to do is add your popper to the submission and submit it!
Once accepted, it'll be rolled and you'll have your eggs/slots/pliff seeds!

How do I get my Vesper approved on the site?

Due to how the site is formatted; only MYOs and Redesigns can be approved on site. So our server will still have approval chats for the rights holders and moderators. However the forms will be simplified a TON, as we will no longer require a lot of the same info or trait bullets.

How do I transfer my vespers to someone else?

Transferring a Vesper is very simple!

-First go to the character on your profile
-On the bottom right, you will see a button called ‘Transfer’
-Select the user from the drop down menu
-Write down ‘Sale/Trade/Gift’ into the Reason for Transfer

The vesper will then appear in the ‘Character Transfers’ Section under the ‘Activity’ tab!
You can also see your incoming trades and completed ones here too.

Does trading MYO Slots work the same way?

You can trade MYO eggs by using the ‘Trade’ function!

How does the 'Trades' function work?

To trade Items or Fein, go to ‘Trades’ located under the ‘Activity’ tab.
Click the ‘New Trade’ on the top right.
Select the user you’re sending them to from the drop down menu.
You can click the show boxes to attach multiple items (including vespers if you’re doing a mixed offer trades).
When you’re ready, click the ‘Create Trade’ button in the bottom right.

Please note that to complete a trade, both parties will need to confirm twice each.

First, after you are done editing your offer, confirm your offer to indicate to your partner that you have finished. Next, after both parties have confirmed, you will receive the option to confirm the entire trade. Please make sure that your partner has attached everything that you are expecting to receive!

After both parties have confirmed the entire trade, the transfers will be processed immediately.

What is a Pliff Seed?

Pliffs are the official companion species of the vespers.
They really serve no purpose but domesticated themselves since living with vespers was easier than fending for themselves!
The seeds allow you to make your own pliffs.

What are Pets and are they the same as Pliffs?

Pets are small companions you can add directly to your Vesper’s profile.
They can be drawn with your Vespers and are fun to collect or share.
Different ones rotate in the shop so check back to nab all your favourites.

Whats the purpose of having pliffs or pets?

Both give you bonuses to your prompts! Pliffs give 50 fein extra! While pets give 25 extra, both having a cap of 150! So you can mix and match your funky little friends in art prompts!

What are bookmarks?

Bookmarks are a cool feature that Lorekeeper has!
On a Vesper’s ML entry (not your own however) you’ll find a button labelled ‘Bookmark’.
This button allows you to keep track of vespers that you like.

Once activated, you can choose to receive messages for the following:
-The Vesper goes into the trade listings
-The Vesper is taken off the trade listings
-The Vesper changes ownership
-The Owner uploads new images to them

You can also make notes/comments on the bookmarks.
As bookmarks are completely invisible to any user other than the bookmarking user, the owner will not be able to see these notes/comments.
