First off; Welcome to the species if you are new to and Hello again to the users who are joining the server and species once again!
This guide is a written out guide for how to get started in this closed species community! 
This guide will be posted in both the discord server and that of the website! Please read through and enjoy your stay!

✮•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✧˚ What are Vespers?˚✧˚•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✮

Vespers are commonly described as a 'Bat Cat' kind of species! They are a Closed Species; closed species are defined as the follows:
'A Closed Species is a race of creature or humanoid character that an artist makes and distributes to the community in the form of adoptables or MYO slots. Typically closed species are monitored very closely by their creators and all official characters that are members of said species will be cataloged on a "Masterlist"

A Closed species character is distinguished from a regular OC by the lore and world to which they belong. A general character is created and exists in whatever world they are created for. A Harry Potter OC exists in the world that the Harry Potter books have established. Your OC can exist in a world you created for them. A Closed Species OC exists (canonically) in the world their creator made for them.' [Credit to https://www.deviantart.com/closed-species for this definition] 

In short; Closed species are ones in which you can not make a design unless you get an MYO or have Rights! Vespers no longer have rights open but they can be obtained by old Rights holders giving theirs up or getting Temp rights from events and such! 
Moving forward; This species was founded 6/16/2018 by Keeble and has been co-owned by her partner CottonCloud for quite some time! As of December of 2022, Keeble is no longer the active owner of the species. Instead, CottonCloud is the current owner, and additionally Jestea was promoted to his co-owner. There is a rather large moderator team and the community has since surpassed 300 members.
Those numbers might seem daunting but we can promise that the community is lovely to be apart of and we will welcome you with open arms!

Vespers also have quite the extensive lore; their information can be found either on the website under 'Species Info' or in the Discord with the ✦-general-vesper-info channel! The owner of the species took time to sit and make audio logs for the written information! There will also be audio logs for the clans once the owner has a chance to do so!

There's quite a few ways to obtain a vespers so let us move onto the next section! 

✮•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✧˚ How do I obtain a Vesper?˚✧˚•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✮

There's a good few ways to gain a vesper! This section will be split up into smaller sections for easier digestion of the content written; please read below for the different methods!

Through Trade:
This is one of the more common methods of gaining a vesper! Many folks will put their vespers up for sale, swap, for art or other characters! Depending on your skill level and art style, there's a high chance you can get multiple vespers with your art! If you have the funds you can often purchase the vespers straight off their past owners. For others you might be able to trade nonvesper characters in order to gain a vesper!

Through Fein:
Fein is the vesper currency! You can browse the section below on how to obtain it! 
The website has a general shop that offers MYO eggs; one being a discounted price for newcomers to the species! This will be your best option if you are wanting to get a vesper without having to be in debt to others or spend funds to do so!

Through a Popper:
Poppers are another thing that can be purchased with fein or from users; these can roll anywhere from 1 to 5 MYOs of a a select range of rarities! This is one of the more underrated options for gaining a vesper but can be very effective if you save up enough to gain one so you get multiple MYOs at once! 

Through Purchasing a Custom:
Vespers is no where near short of rights holders! Rights holders are able to make Common-Corrupt rarity vespers; meaning you can pay them and give them the information to design you a vesper to your liking! Like all methods regarding the vesper being custom made  for you; you will have to wait for the moderators to approve the design, which can sometimes take a fair bit of time 

Through Purchasing a MYO:
Purchasing a MYO will give you the ability to design a vesper yourself! There's a ton of anatomy guides and helpful refs you can follow; as well as being able to make up to the rarity and mutations you have. These MYOs can be upgraded at any time and you can tag on other items from the shop to add unique things to the vesper! Like the option above however; It does require you to wait for a moderator to approve the design

Through an Adoptable:
Adoptables are a common staple of the Closed Species community and there's quite a few out in the server! This works quite similarly to the first point and they are typically paypal or cashapp! Though there are some offer to adopt, raffle to adopt and other types of adopts as well!

Through being Gifted:
The last common method is that of having been gifted a vesper; this can be done by a friend or by someone in the community raffling off or just giving you the vesper! While they loose resaleability ; you are free to trade or regift them at anytime after the cooldown is done [Note that a cool-down is 7 days from approval or transfer, the website automatically applies cool-downs for traded or gifted vespers]

✮•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✧˚ What is Fein and Star Shards? How do I get and use them?˚✧˚•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✮

Fein and Star shards are the currency of the vesper species and don't have a real currency equivalent to USD. [Some users have been seen to use a $1=100 fein or 1:1 for Star shard and USD] They are mostly used within the shops of the website to buy collectibles, to purchase MYOs, Items to redesign or overhaul a character or to get pets for their vespers!
There's a good couple ways for someone to gain fein or star shards! The following are some of the most common ways:

Raffles
Raffles don't happen too often with either currency but when it does you have a good chance of receiving a fair amount of the currency!

Prompts
Prompts are the most common way of gaining the species currency alongside items for them as well! Prompts can be found on the website and have an outline for what is required for it; you can ask people on the discord or on the website if you can draw their characters for a prompt if you don't have vespers of your own! There's some prompts that are active and refresh every single month or are constantly active! Beyond those they swap out and change monthly

Events
Events such as an emoji event or something of the sort can give you a reward of the currency if you place in any of the spots that have it! These don't happen too frequently!

Vesper of the Week
Vesper of the Week is a bi-weekly event that interviews a member of the community that is something of a drawing game! You can watch the Fein stock market to see how it fluctuates from day to day; If you draw for that day then you get whatever amount of Fein is listed for that day! This is an event that is frequent and stable; same as the prompts

Commissions, YCHs, Selling Characters
This one is pretty self explanatory! Folks will take the time to make art or ychs for fein or star shards to rack them up for items; pets or collectibles! Depending on what they are after during the time

Selling Items or Trading Items and Pets
You are also able to sell your items, pets and collectibles to other members of the community! There is also a way to sell the items back to the shops!

✮•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✧˚ Who are the Moderators?˚✧˚•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙˚✮

The Moderator team present  in the vesper community! There's two specific teams and they can help you with different things!
The teams are Website and Server. As well as the Mod Leads of each team and the Owners of the species!
Keeble, the owner and founder, is currently not a part of the community and is unavailable for species related help!

If you need owner-level assistance, CottonCloud is the owner of the species, and Jestea is the co-owner.

Website Team:
The Website Team handles everything from the MYO approvals, Masterlist uploads to restocking the shops every week/month! They are the people to contact if you are having website troubles

Server Team:
The Server team is responsible for all things within the discord server! They will do corrections and approvals; direct conversations and answer questions/handle the tickets being made! These are the mods you can go to for any questions you have of lore, traits and such!
