Was wondering if my Vesper could be an alternate form for an existing OC of mine they're based from? I tried reading the rules and FAQ to find the answer myself, but couldn't seem to find it...? I want to say the answer is no, but would like confirmation!
so sorry for the delayed response- let me see if I can clarify!!
you ARE allowed to turn existing OCs into characters, as long as you have the original designer's permission to change the design's species. If you are the designer- great! no extra steps necessary! if the designer is still active on social media, we ask that you get written permission beforehand (to provide when the vesper form is submitted for approval). if the designer is NOT active anywhere you can locate, provide proof of that as a substitute.
vespers based on NON-original characters (ex. game/book/tv characters) cannot be exact replicas under any circumstances, but taking inspiration/making themed characters IS allowed. In both cases, the original design needs to be provided when the vesper is submitted for approval.
hope that was helpful!!
It's all good, no worries! I apologize for needing to ask further questions to clarify ---
So, I just need to ask my Vesper's Creator if it's alright to have them as an alternate form for the OC they're based off of..? Once that permission is given I need to get the Vesper Re-Approved, or...??
Just for context; the Vesper was made based off another character I own. They were a Custom that I had plans/backstory for, but that all fell through and with how similar they both are it's just safer to have them be one character instead of two if that makes sense???
The Vesper in question is over a year old, so I just want to make sure of everything! I'm more than happy to contact the creator of my Vesper as they're active on social media, I'm just trying to make sure I read what your response means properly and I apologize again for more questions!!
Also, Happy Christmas (and New Year) to you and everyone here! I hope I'm not bugging too much on this holiday!!
Hello! Back in 2018, I have made a Vesper from a very old MYO raffle event that Keeble hosted for reaching 7000 followers on amino. I was wondering if I can keep her appearance as is?
hiya, so sorry for the delayed response!!
vesps that old aren't uploaded on the site, so if you could open a ticket in the discord server it'd be a big help to us mods!
but to answer your specific question- yes, you're allowed to leave vespers' appearances intact even if they have traits that are no longer in use/"illegal" ^^ (the only time this doesn't apply is if you decide you want to change traits; anything "illegal" would have to be removed in that case to match the current acceptable traits!)
Hello, how do you find the new masterlists of your vespers? I have a few ones I need to update but they require a link of the new masterlist and proof https://toyhou.se/Phiraeth/characters/folder:1466820
Rights are sold once a year (around january 1st) in the discord server! Rights Holders can also trade or gift their rights (but they must adv it first! Do not go asking RH if their rights are for sale.)

What do i do if a vesper I bought hasn't been put on the website or I'm unsure if it is? I bought one from someone (https://toyhou.se/27721747.mari) and they said it wasn't uploaded here yet

If you're unsure about whether a design is on the masterlist or not you can do a search based on the artist/designer! When you pull up the vesper masterlist, there's a button near the top right of the masterlist that says "Show Advanced Search Options" - there you can use the dropdown box under Artist/Designer if they have an account on site or you can put in their profile (usually a DA profile) link in the Artist URL or Designer URL box right below it.
If you've looked there and can't find it or don't know the designer, you can always ask here and one of the mods will double check!
In this case I did double check and can confirm that design isn't on site. You'll need to fill out the traits sheet under "Approval/ML Submission" and submit it under there along with an unwatermarked pic of the ref (preferably the ref with the accessories). Just fill out the traits the best you can - a mod will correct whatever is necessary before upload! There are picture trait refs under "General Info", which is under the "Species Info" tab on the top bar.
If you have any other questions lmk!
